Public Relations Copywriter
FusionDesign, Cape Town requires a PR Copywriter for West Coast Way, Syzygy Social PR, including FusionDesign clients.
We require an experienced communications specialist to join our team to fulfil the role of a content writer for promotions, news, press releases, informational articles, mailers and social media. You will report to the PR Professional, Creative Director & Production Manager.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be proficient in and have English as first language
- 2 – 5 years' experience in a Journalism/Public Relations
- Suitable Copywriting Qualifications
- Ability to prepare content across Media – Traditional to Digital Media
- Exceptional verbal, writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Creative thinker but Organised
ADVANTAGEOUS EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of Digital Marketing
- Experience in WordPress, Canva, PPC, Mailchimp
- Dealing with Media
- Managing Databases
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proofreading/Quality Assurance of Multi-Media Content
- Edit Supplied Content for Grammar, Consistency & Fact Checking
- Write Articles with Attention-Grabbing Headlines
- Understand and Adhere to good PR practices
- Translate complex supplied content into digestible, "plain language"
- Ability to meet deadlines, be organised, analytical and dynamic
- Curious and interest in tourism, destination marketing and digital PR
- Interpret project briefs to develop a strategic writing approach
- Grasp audience profiles and develop a concept, tone and style that is in line with a target audience
- Happens seldom, but must be able to travel
